MEASUREMENT OF LENGTH

A. Objective
1.    Students can use instrument of measurement
2.    Students capable to measure the length of the objects in around using standard unit and nonstandard unit.
B.  Introduction
Did you ever measure the length of the table using the span of your hand? Then what happens if the measurement is done by more than one person?
Did you ever measure the table using a ruler? Then what happens if the measurement is done by others?

It’s will we discuss in this observations "Measurement of Length”
C. Tools and Materials
1. Tools
  • Roll meter

  • Pencil
  • Bolpoint
D. Procedure
 1.   Activity I

  • Prepare the needed tools and materials such as roll meter, whiteboard, door, and window
  • Measure the length of objects (whiteboard, door, and window) using roll meter
  • Repeat the measurements of objects up to 3 times with different student
  • Noting the results of the measurements on worksheet and kraft paper
2. Activity II

  • Prepare the needed tools and materials such as ruler, book, pencil, and ballpoint
  • Measure the length of objects (book, pencil, and ballpoint) using ruler
  • Repeat the measurements of objects up to 3 times with different student
  • Noting the results of the measurements on worksheet and kraft paper

 3. Activity III
  • Prepare the needed tools and materials such as jangka sorong, coin, cover bottle, and cover glass
  • Measure the length of objects (coin, cover bottle, and cover glass) using jangka sorong
  •  Repeat the measurements of objects up to 3 times with different student
  •  Noting the results of the measurements on worksheet and kraft paper
4. Activity IV

  •   Use something that is in your body that can be used as a tool to measure the length of the object
  • Measure the length of objects (whiteboard, door, and window) using instrument measurement of length that you have gained in your body
  • Repeat the measurements of objects up to 3 times with different student.
  • Noting the results of the measurements on worksheet and kraft paper
